I wouldnt say any kind of fruits and vegetables.
I would stay close to collard greens, mustard greens, dandilion greens, chickory, chards, watercress...basically any dark green leaves. I dont know the links to all the Iguana diets but I'm sure someone will post one for you. I give my iguana either a little scrambled egg or a little catfood. I know most people feel you shouldnt and they may comment on my diet, but kiss my Iguana's a**. And once in a while he'll steal a slice of pizza. Also make sure you take your new iguana to the vet to get checked for parasites, especially protozoas and worms. I dewormed and treated for parasites my iguana in December...after that he put on about a pound and a quarter by february. What part of NY are you in...maybe I can recommend a vet depending on that.
