In Reply to: Yet another Strange question about treats. :) posted by Heather on June 27, 2002 at 11:21:54:
Iguanas can eat tofu. They shouldn't have a lot of it, though. It has been recommended to add a small amount of tofu to the salad if your ig has low protein levels. Yogurt is a dairy product and isn't good for igs. But iguanas love to eat all sorts of things that are very bad for them. If yours likes yogurt, it would probably be okay for you to give him a tiny bit of it every once in awhile. Keep in mind that it should be a rare treat. If you find some veggie or green that your ig is particularly fond of, you can use that as a treat with no guilt at all. :-) Mine happens to LOVE snow peas...

: After typing the other reply I went to eat my lunch. A Yogurt. Then I started to wonder Can Igs eat Yogurt? Or Tofu, for that matter? Just curious. I wouldn't think regularly but as a treat every now and then, would it hurt? I know Yogurt has milk in it but not Tofu. I was just wondering if anyone knew. :) Thanks again!
