Calci-Sand ?

Hi: Anyone ever hear of putting Calci-Sand in the bottom of an iguana cage? Could it be dangerous in any way? I just thought it would be more natural and actually feel good for Phoebe.
I now use newspaper but she really pees and poops a lot. Her cage is in my family room and I thought that this would keep the smell down and I wouldnt have to clean her cage everyday.
Any thoughts? Any comments?
