need some help with green iguana

Ok what fruit should i give it for a snack???

and besides loving it whats some other ways i can gte it to not be so afraid of me whenever i put my hand near it he tries to whip me and will go nuts and run away.... the whiping doesnt hurt because he/she is small....

and how do i tell if its a guy or girl?
