Be gentle to him, talk to him in a low and calm voice, dont make abrupt movements because he ll become defensive again.Iguanas adore to be rubbed in the head and in the cheeks.Mine (I ve 5!!)close the eyes and open the mouth when I do that!But to be able to rub him you have first to convince him you are not a predator!Before handling or rubbing him you have to calm him down with slow movements and a very sweet voice.

BUT if you are handling your ig and he wants to escape you cannot let him go.You have to show him YOU are the master,You are the BOSS and he has to obey you.BUT you have to be firm and KIND because he will only submit himself to you IF he is not afraid of you.Its difficult but it is possible!
ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT THING:
If you want to tame your iguana you have to give him attention EVERY DAY.At least half an hour everyday.If you forget him for a week he'll become defensive again.
That's why I said you have to love him very much because it is not easy.The scars that I still have in my hands are visible proof that its not easy.But taming a wild animal is a rewarding task!!
