Please help....

For the past two or three months, , everytime I clean Phil's cage, and feed him, he has been attacking me. He hasn't managed to bite me yet, but he tries. I don't understand it. He used to be so sweet, and I was able to hadnle him until lately. I've had him for about three or four years now. Is this breeding season?, or did he just get more aggressive. I'll be building him a new cage as soon as I can, so he has more room. I just don't know why he's being soo mean.
Last time I was cleaning his cage, he was just sitting there, then he sort of skittered, charged me. I try to stand my ground so he doesn't get the idea that by doing that he can scare me off, but it's really hard when theres a 3 foot iguana coming at you. Can anybody offer ANY help, or tips? thanx sooooo much... Sarah
