Iguanas are very sensitive to smells. They dont like strange or different smells in the house they live.Godzilla, my older iguana, didnt like at all when my chidren brought home a couple of hamsters. He climbed the curtains of the living room up and stayed there for three days without eating or drinking, so scared he got.
Rex, my 2nd older iguana, almost attacked me when I bought my first turtle and put her in the same veranda where he lives.Perhaps you have been handling another animal before approaching him and he got confused with the different smell.

: Last time I was cleaning his cage, he was just sitting there, then he sort of skittered, charged me. I try to stand my ground so he doesn't get the idea that by doing that he can scare me off, but it's really hard when theres a 3 foot iguana coming at you. Can anybody offer ANY help, or tips? thanx sooooo much... Sarah
