It could be breeding season or just plain territoral feelings due to maturity.
We had a male that was a love until he hit 5yrs old and then he went nuts!!! and he had the house to free roam.We tried everything to calm him down but to no avail.Then there's Harry the child of satan,,,he's nuts also and sometimes male just don't settle down.
If you've done everything right,and he's not in pain,,,there is the chance he's just territorial and may stay that way.Read his body language and be careful.
Seasonal behavoir usually lasts for a few months,so if he's still acting this way months down the road,,,you may have problems.
