My vet (also a herp vet) has suggested to me that all the fancy reptile
lights are a waste of money.He feels as far as basking...any 100-
150 watt light will do fine,depending on cage size.As for uv he claims that the lizards
have to be a foot or less away from light for it to be effective
which is not practical in most cases.He recommened a vitamin D supplement.He claims it
goes staight into lizard thus assuring it's getting what it needs.
The only time he recommened a night light is when the temperature in my house goes below
70 -75 degrees.He says herps in general will do better with the cooler night time temps
because it mimics there natural enviorment better.He feel they eat better and are more
comfortable when they cool down in the evening.
If you notice I was sure to put a lot of he feels,he thinks,
and he recomends in my post because these are his oppinions.What do you all think?
