Emma,
Typically, female Iguanas will start scratching around their enclosures when they are ready to lay.I think yes,you should show her the way into the laying site, she may not take to it right away, but she will then know it's available...it may even prompt her to start scratching, which is a needed act to promote 'labor' for lack of a better term.Sometimes it is a good idea to place a heating pad beneath the site,on a medium setting...as the temperature of the site is also important...keep it warm.I would really concentrate on getting her as hydrated as possible before this event,as it will leave the healthiest of Iguanas dehydrated, and in the case of an already dehydrated animal,I would think this could lead to complications. She will rest afterwards, and some Iguanas will just as soon rest after the ordeal inside the site,as come out.Monitor the situation very closely, you will certainly know when she is done,as the scratching will cease. If she does not come out,get her out,and offer her food and water(be careful,as they can be defensive at this time). You needn't worry about asking too many questions here,or bothering anyone for help...that is what we are all here for...to help each other.I would recommend keeping your vet informed of all goings on,as they may have helpful ideas along the way,and by all means keep us all informed. If there is anything I am overlooking here,or if you need any further explanations of anything I have said here...or anything at all...feel free to ask away,I will be more than happy to help you as much as I can,and there are many bright individuals here who's 2 cents can add up to alot.
Good luck.
