Guapi's vet came to the house last night and I love her! She is on the board of the Minnesota Herpetological Society. In addition to being very knowledgeable, she is a very warm person that really cares about reptiles. She can't yet tell Guapi's sex, but she said he looks pretty healthy. The two things that were wrong, are that his environment is not humid enough (off to the store to buy a humidifier) and he has mites. The black lumps that I was concerned about are actually scabs from trauma that she believs he may have suffered during transport here. She told me that the conditions under which these imported iguanas travel are sometimes horrible. Upon close investigation of the scabs, she found mites underneath. Guapi got a shot and will get one every two weeks for two months to get rid of the mites. I'm so glad that she knew what the bumps are and that they are treatable. That's all for now...Laura & Guapiar
