Hello Mr.D - I keep a wide variety of amphibians and reptiles which occupy my scientific interest. I use them in daily live animal presentations as well.
When I am cleaning the rooms which house the iguanas, I enjoy letting the animals roam and explore territory rarely encountered. In a strange twist from his regular habits, this particular animal decided to rest above a pond which houses a large American alligator. (The iguana is usually very routine with its wondering) long story short, the gator jumped up and grabbed the tail which was hanging just above. The iguana twisted and severed his own tail freeing himself from the mouth of the gator.
It is always a surprise to see an unexpected injury I understand. The photo was not posted for shock value but rather to stimulate the minds of those that keep iguanas and to remind them of the potential for unexpected accidents.
After reading your *warning*, my post was in reference to the "reality" aspect of my photo and I was directing that towards you (as you were the one to post the warning) in hopes that you would understand my intentions.
I hope you did'nt misinterpret that post, coming across as unprofessional was not my intention. Thanks, Leo
