Ever since September my (almost) 3 yr old male iguana has been in his mating season. The coolest pet in the world now has the nastiest disposition in the world. I know a lot of it's because I'm a female of child bearing age. I've gotten stitches from his attacks & gotten him a hormonal shot, but the shot had no effect. I've talked to vets & they say he's an alpha-male and I should consider getting him neutered. (These are vets recommended by the area zoos and herp societies) I am not willing to give him up, but these "episodes" are not only injuring to me, but also to Squiggy. Does anyone know the effects of neutering ig's? I would like to hear some experienced opinions before I consider this at all. Thanks!
