Salmonella can be transmitted thru an iguana's shed..but not inhaled..transmission thru contact...fecal~~>oral. If it was true that salmonella can survive in air then us iggy owners would be sick with salmonellosis 24/7!!! I wish!! Maybe I can lose this 20 lbs!! Most bacterias don't do well in air, either uvb kills em or temps, rely on contact..and peeps forgetting to wash their hands before they touch food, or place them in their mouths!! Viruses on the other hand definately thru air vents. Ive read about salmonella contaminated dairy equipment, and salmonella getting in milk supply but again its contact. If you can find that article please let us know! Very interesting!!
