Actually that could be what it is (dried blood). Last week I took a vacation to Vermont and I had to put him in his smaller cage, which has metal wires which are covered in thick rubber (its not abrasive in any way), he spent some of the time up there rubbing his nose against the cage trying to get out. It just seems weird of the reason why its "fuzzy" and how the brown seems to perfectly cover the entire scale on his nose. Also, unfortunately theres no way I can get any pictures online.
: that your ig could have rubbed his nose raw and what you are seeing/feeling could be dried blood? The coloration you describe is the reason that I suggest this. Otherwise I would have thought that it would simply be a case of shedding but scales about to be shed usually turn a gray/grayish blue color. Any chance that you can get us pictures of the condition at all?
: If there is no possiblilty of cuts/abrasions anywhere I would suggest that a vet appointment is warranted..... If you need to locate one try checking at the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians website - www.arav.org under the "members" section.
