******cross posted*******

just talked to Des + she asked me to update everyone for her ...

yesterday the vet put a compression bandage with vet-wrap on Vega$'s belly in an attempt to stop the bleeding ... they are NOT sure if it's just normal post-op seepage or if it is something more serious ... the compression bandage was to take care of "the worst case scenerio" because the only way to tell *for sure* would be more surgery ... Vega$ was NOT supposed to be moving around AT ALL ...

Vega$ did NOT appreciate her belly being wrapped up tight + even when Des had her wrapped up like a burrito in towel, Vega$ continued to croc-roll + try to get out of the bandage ... Des couldn't leave Vega$ unattended for fear that she'd roll over onto her back + get stuck ... so! Des slept with Vega$ under her arm all nite, or rather DIDN'T sleep ... Vega$ would nod off for maybe an hour and then wake up + croc roll some more + wake Des up who would then try to calm her down + get her back to sleep ... the only way Des could keep Vega$ semi-calm + still today was to cradle Vega$ up against her ... ALLLL day ...

it's a tough call to decide WHICH is the lesser of the 2 evils: take the compression bandage off + hope Vega$ will calm down or leave the bandage on to hopefully prevent any more bleeding ... but bandaged, she's totally stressed + inconsolable and being THAT stressed and moving as much as she has been isn't good either ...

so ... the bandage came off just a little bit ago and Des says Vega$ is already looking more relaxed + isn't arching her back the way she has been the last 2 days ... hopefully, she'll relax enough to gooooooooo to sleeeeeeeeeeeeep! her + Des are BOTH exhausted!

Vega$ has an appt with the vet tomorrow morning at 10 + they will do more blood tests to check her packed cell level ... her regular vet is back in the office tomorrow too ...

Des wants everyone to know that she appreciates everyone's caring + concern + good thoughts ...

Bon.
