helmeted iguana questions (long)

today i saw a helmeted iguana and the guy who worked there said he'd give me a good deal on him for $40. is that really a good deal? he said he normally sells them for $69. i tried looking online for comparative prices, but had a hard time finding them for sale (are they really that rare?) although i found plenty of care sheets. he seemed like a friendly guy and jumped on my head and then fell asleep on my shoulder. he was alert and had good muscle tone on his back legs, and let me touch him basically everywhere. my lizard experience is next to nothing. my ex and i had a bearded dragon and a leopard gecko, but he dealt with them. i own 5 boids, and those are usually my deal. are these helmeted iguanas too advanced for a newbie lizard owner? the pet store owner suggested i get this cage that is probably for birds, made of wire for ventilation and climbing. is that a good enclosure? he said to put some plants in there and mist him frequently and give him a water dish and a plastic box of crickets so they couldn't climb out, but he could go in and get them. with a uv light and a heat lamp, would that be a good set up? i was advised to feed him crickets (he'd eat 2-4 a day, the owner said), meal worms, and perhaps some dandelion flowers. was this advice truthful? thanks for your help, i would like to own this spunky little lizard, but i'd hate to have been either had by a crafty petstore owner, or hurt the lizard with my inexperience. thanks in advance for anyone who replies.
