Repeat after me.....Ceramic Heat Emitter CHE CHE!!! Yes they cost $25 - $35 depending on where you buy it, but well worth it. They'll last for years.
I've heard that with some bulbs, if you touch the bulb, the oil from your fingers will cause it to pop/quit working. Why bother!
Remember! No matter what type of bulb you use (CHE or light bulb) always use the dome fixture that has the CERAMIC socket and not the hard plastic one (socket). The ceramic is much safer due to the high temps the bulbs can cause. You do NOT want to run the risk of a fire.
