There's two types of CHE's we've dealt with. 1. Looks somewhat like a ceramic flood light 2. is more of a stem with a flat coil at the end (ceramic)
Of those two types, we have never had to replace the flat coil type but we have thrown 2 of the flood light shaped ones away.
I would recommend the flat ones, as I stated before we are going on 3 years on 2 of them and 2 years on 2 other ones. They are available in 3 or 4 different wattages and you should always use a ceramic socket fixture with these units.
I'm sorry I don't have my cage, light and heating source pages up and running yet. I've been working on them off and on for about 2 months and not even close to being ready to post them. If they were, you could see the different types and the information about them.
