oh Joan how awful!!!! if you're anything like me, you feel as bad as Merlin does right now (if not worse) .... i think it'd probably be best if you didn't hold him, but just let him lay there in his warm spot quietly .... hopefully he's *just* in a state of terrified shock and will perk back up later today .... watch him carefully ... he could very well have internal injuries and need a trip to the vet asap .... only you can decide that part tho ....
and it depends on how long kitty had him ....
