: what's positive about each of these:
: 1. a person purchasing an iglet

: 2. They don't know anything about them before buying one

: I can see this is going for another round....so I am going to stop, we already had our 6 month blow out just last week. Hey, why don't you post about this in 6 months.....and I'll go a full round with you on it. LOL
: Later..

Gee, I was out of the country (and off line) for 8 months. Lucky me. I guess the forum went from exchange of information and the joys and occasional tragedies of iguanas to bombastic rants on 'the way things should be if everyone would just do as I say'!

So someone bought a baby ig and didn't do research previously. Maybe you expect them to kill it, write and apologize for purchasing one in the first place and adopt? Or do you think that after purchasing one they might want to learn how to properly care for it?

Please don't turn people away who just want to do the right thing for their pets- I doubt people come here BEFORE buying their baby. We can start by helping them understand and care for their igs properly.

I've had 3 full grown igs I took from people who didn't want or didn't care for them so I know what can happen. I was able to domesticate them and find homes for them on my own and would do it again if necessary. And it is a tragedy that babies are still being sold, but chastising newcomers after the fact will not help in the least. If the ones who insist on pontificating really think they are doing anything more than being righteously indignant they are sadly mistaken. And the group, and especially new owners who need help after buying in ignorance, suffer.
