Topic: Giving out medical advice on the forum
6 months ago or so, I PO'd alot of people that were talking about how to administer medication for varies treatments. I will once again bring this up.....since it does concern me that such information is being posted on the site.
I strongly believe and it hasn't changed, that we should NOT be discussing medical advice on this forum to the depths I have read. Here's the main reason why.....and correct me if I am wrong; there are MANY readers of this forum...that DO NOT post but yet sit here and read the post. Of these people, it's most likely none of us know just how much knowledge they have about caring for an iguana. Which may open up information on medical treatments that shouldn't be shown to ALL eyes. Some of us here may feel very comfortable dealing out meds to their reptiles, while other are content to take theirs to a good Vet. But there's other people who just don't want to spend the money on a Vet visit and decide to administer a treatment they received from the forum. They may or may not provide the correct dose or treatment and could do more harm than good.
I would strongly suggest that if you want to talk about medical treatments that you take it up in emails ONLY.....please.
This forum should be for normal husbandry issues and not a medical forum. YES this is only my opinion, but I would hope you think about what I have typed before making a judgement.
Just how many of you have sat in the background for awhile just reading post and not being actively involved in posting on this forum???
