OK...Couple of things going on here. Your ig is most likely stressed because of the new environment. That will contribute to a lack of appetite. The change in diet will also contribute to it. What size is the enclosure that you have it in right now ?
As far as the diet you're feeding, it is definitely better than dog food but it still needs improvement. Not necessarily your fault - I'd guess that it's coming from one of the books you picked up. Brocolli, whether it be stems or heads, shouldn't be fed as a staple in an iguana diet. LETTUCE, on the other hand, should NEVER be fed as it really has no nutritional value at all. Make sure that the moss you're using isn't toxic to an iguana should it decide to snack on it.
Don't get into the habit of just feeding the same three or four foods all the time. If you do, you may be missing some vital nutrients but you'll DEFINITELY have a picky eater on your hands in no time. Keep researching as there are MANY differnt sources of information out there. And THINK when you read, the more you leard about iguana care the more you will be able to determine whether or not something actually makes sense. There is STILL plenty of misinformation floating around out here. If you ever get hung up on something and aren't sure of what to do, feel free to come back here and bounce it off of us. More likely than not one of us has heard the question before. And if not, one of us will most likely know which direction to point you in for your answer.
Feel free to nose around my site and see if you can pick up anything. You may not agree with everything you find there but this will be true of just about any site you check out. Rest assured that everything there, though, is everything that we use on our own iguanas. And feel free to ask questions. The only dumb question is the one that goes unasked....
