What is the composition of her salads? The alfalfa pellets are OK, but shouldn't be a mainstay of her diet. They are a protein source, and should be used as such. Do you have UVB lighting for her, and heat lights? As to her tail, this is probably dry gangrene, and could spread up the tail. Does this portion of the tail seem dark in color, hard and somewhat shrunken? It will eventually fall off as long as it doesn't spread, but should really be looked at by a vet and probably amputated. If the tail is amputated at the right spot, she may have some tail regrowth. At any rate, I hope this isn't too many questions, best wishes to you and your new Ig.
