You will need uvb tubes (or at least a tube) to go along with her daylight heat lamp. These tubes are, unfortunately, rather expensive, and should be replaced every 6 months, as they wear out and cease to emit uvb radiation. I know what you mean about the heat, I live in a cold house, too. Be sure that the ambient temp in the ig's cage is at least 75 in the COOLEST part. the temp under the basking lamp should be 85-95. She should have darkness to sleep in, as igs sleep just like people, and need darkness. The black light will work for this. Daytime, have a heat lamp and uvb tubes, and black light at night. I prefer no light at nihgt, but if this is a heat source, then use it.
