My iguana has a really bad mouth infection. The whole length of the right side of the roof of his mouth is swollen and some stuff that I think is lymph (it is jello-ish and has a yellowy tint) keeps building up around his gums. There are no, I repeat, no vets within 80 miles who will even look at my poor guy, he won't eat solids but drinks a cup of liquid a day. I am trying to get as much nutrition down his throat as possible but he is starting to show signs of deficiencies.
He is a rescue case I have had for about 3 years. He had MBD and a broken leg that I had to fix since the vet I took him to claimed to be a reptile expert but said she couldn't figure out what was wrong and charged me $90 for the visit anyway.
My boss had an ig that grew to the ripe old age of 18, and his got an infection sort of like mine which was cured by putting a Calendula tincture on it. I started doing this friday and it looks a tiny bit better. Please someone help, if you have any sort of advice or experice with this sort of thing please let me know!!!
(by the way, please don't yell at me and tell me i am a horrible ig owner because I won't drive him 80 miles to the vet because I don't have a car and none of my friends can get off work to do it for me i already asked and if there was a way to get him to a doctor i wouldn't be posting this.)Thank you so much anyone who can help! I am really worried about my boy.
