Curious, why would you buy an iglet? Given the state of unwanted iguanas in the country..... purchasing any kind of animal from a petstore while the condition of unwanted animals climbs, you are promoting these pet stores to continue selling these reptiles. The pet store didn't lose any $$$ giving you that second one since they probably made a profit of 10 times what the two cost the store, with the 1 iglet you bought.
Although, I don't like seeing iglets dying in a pet store.....I would NOT help by purchasing any of them, but I would let the store know that I am unhappy with the conditions and will no longer be purchasing products from that store. $$$ speaks more to the pet store owner than common concerns for the reptile. `
Let's do the math:
Pet store gets in 50 iglets @ 2.50 each....
let's say 10 iglets die but the owner sells the rest for 9.95 each. 40 x 9.95 = $398.00
It cost the owner $125.00 to purchase them.....subtract that from their profit and ......bingo.....$273.00.......they'll order more of them!!!
It's a never ending battle til we stop purchasing and promote adoption!! If they can't sell them....they sure won't buy them anymore!!
