I also have an adopted dog from the greyhound rescue. Local parks and wildlife officials and reptile rescues that take igs around here did not have any hatchlings, only adults. I hardly think I am self centered for wanting to raise a young iguana. I hope you're not planning on having any children either or have had any. There seem to be quite a number of people on this planet already and I sure there are a lot available for adoption as well. You can't dictate to me what's right and what's wrong. Those kinds of morals are for each person to decide upon on their own. I wanted a hatchling iguana and I made sure that it wasn't one from the wild.
