Juvinile green ig

I have a juvinile female green iguana. 2 questions-- First, she shedded about a week and a half ago in the head reigon, and now, in the space of about a week, the entire top ofher head has turned a light olive brown. Is this Normal? IF it isn't, any ideas as to what I should do?
Second-- she caught her tail between the water dish and the wall of her enclosure, and broke off about 3 inches of tail. The section broken off was not fleshy or anything, and she has healed up all right. How long will it take for the tail to grow back? thanks--
