loosing weight....

I know that I have been given a ton of websites on iguanas for information and I have looked all of them over again. I have read so many different opions on feeding and protein I don't know what to do. My iguana hasn't been eating as much as he used to and he seems to be loosing weight. I change most of his salad diet every week to give him a variety like I have read about. He is still very active. I have been told to give him some small pinkies and that should fatten him up. Is this what I should do? I don't want to take him to the vet because it has been WAY TOO COLD out for him. Today it was in the 30's.
