You have to trust us when we give you RESEARCHED websites-- don't believe everything you read on the net. Melissa Kaplan and Jen Swofford's sites are 2 of the best. There are some other helpful ones out there but if you stick with these 2, you don't have to worry about BAD information. NO ANIMAL PROTEIN EVER! You would be cutting his life short. Sometimes igs don't eat as much during the winter. If you know he is good health and doesn't have worms or other illnesses, you just need to keep feeding the appropriate diet. Add a little more of his favorites in such a way that he is forced to eat the most nutritious veggies too. Sleestack will gladly eat greens he isn't crazy about if there is a little squash or sweet potato stuck to it. Experiment with different preparation techniques like big chunky salads versus finely chopped salads etc. (just don't make is so big he can't safely eat it) Good luck and keep us posted.
: I know that I have been given a ton of websites on iguanas for information and I have looked all of them over again. I have read so many different opions on feeding and protein I don't know what to do. My iguana hasn't been eating as much as he used to and he seems to be loosing weight. I change most of his salad diet every week to give him a variety like I have read about. He is still very active. I have been told to give him some small pinkies and that should fatten him up. Is this what I should do? I don't want to take him to the vet because it has been WAY TOO COLD out for him. Today it was in the 30's.
