After being away for about 2 weeks, I noticed that my iguana now has black crusty rings, and spots all over hind legs and feet. I looked at a bunch of iguana care books and narrowed it down to dermatomycosis. I believe the cause of the problem is/was a dirty cage, the pet sitter I hired did not clean his cage the entire time I was gone, so was badly soiled... Anyway, I need to know what I can do for him while I find a way to get him to the vet I found. Trying to transport my "monster" without a car is going to be a challenge...The saleslady at the petstore told me to pore diluted listerine over him. Is this ok? Will it help? What else can I use. Also, his hind feet are swollen, is this part of the dermatomycosis, or might it be something else? The feet were not swollen before, or at least I didn't notice. PLEASE HELP
