I don't know exactly what it will do, but I would not do it. It would be like pouring listerine on a kid with a cold. Don't see how it could possibly help. But who knows...

And I sincerely HOPE that you either did NOT pay the babysitter, or at least docked thier pay.

Please please please...do everything that you can to find a ride to the vet. (just a shot in the dark here) are you without a car, due to age? (are you a kid?) and (once again..please don't be offended), but with the name Billie, are you a girl? If so.. here's what my sister and I did once when we were home on summer vacation from school, and had no car. The dog was sick..REALLY sick and we had no way to get him to the vet. (mom and dad at work) We called and asked if there was any way they could help us out, and when they said no, my sister began to cry. They sent one of the college interns to get us :)

This may be a little drastic.. but it worked! Also, you might want to let people what part of the world you are from...maybe someone canhook you up with a ride?!?!
