Iguana Bite

We have had our Iguana for over a year. Last week she got hung from her leash in the tree and then had two doctors visits. The vet said Iguanas carry Salmonella. Since the tree incident she has started snapping and tonight she bit my finger, quite badly and drew lots of blood. Should I see a doctor for poisoning? Should we dispose of the Iguana or will her temper return to a loving animal. I am afraid of her now.
