You might want to print out and have on hand the info at the website I'll leave for you. In my personal opinion, as long as you cleaned the wound on yourself thoroughly and applied antibiotic cream to it that should be sufficient. The problem arises when you DON'T clean it, etc. OR the iguana has left a tooth (teeth) imbedded and you don't see it. Some bites are deep enuf that there is further concern for infection. It is important that if you seek medical treatment for yourself that you are able to tell the dr. what HE/SHE needs to do for you. Iguana bites are not something a dr commonly sees and the human medical treatment is different than that for other types of animal bites.
After you have read the info at the website, you might want to back up and read other articles at this site. This is Melissa Kaplan's site and if you have never visited it, you'll find that there is a wealth of info on it that is vital to the health and safety of both your iguana and yourself...including a section on taming.
Did your vet mention whether or not your iguana would be in some pain for x days due to the accident? This may be another reason that she is nippy. When one of ours was having trouble and was in pain she was on the defense (nipping/whipping)until she no longer hurt. We've had her for six years. So, as others suggested, this is probably a temporary thing for yours involving both fear and, possibly, still having some pain. It might be best for now to NOT try to handle her. Give her some time to heal. But you can approach her and talk to her, etc. so that your taming doesn't suffer a complete set back due to her accident.
Hope she feels better soon and you, too!
