The little yellow hooked neck squash, along with zuccini, I always cut up and put in the food processor ( on sale at Macy's for $29.00 -Cuisinart).

Larger squash I cut up into large sections 4" x 4" or 4" x 6" whatever. I put into a glass baking dish ( so that it doesn't pick up any metal taste from the pan ) and bake at 350 to 400 degrees for about 45 minutes or until soft. I then let it cool and then scoop out the fleshy part with a spoon or if firm use a knife. This way the skin is left behind and the flesh is nice and soft for the igs to eat.

I hope this helps.

PS: I have tried frozen and canned veg's like squash and greens - Yuck!!!! absolutely nobody liked it. Although I found that frozen then micro-waved peas are ok though.
