Gravel!????

Does anyone feed this to their iguana??? I couldn't begin to tell you about all the *really really bad* advice I'm seeing in this "Step by Step Book About Iguanas" that I'm browsing, but this is the first I've ever seen feeding gravel recommended! Should I stay appalled or calm down on this one???
