Would like you to take a look at this free roaming situation

Hello,

I have noticed that my iguana won’t survive the winter in her indoor 4’x4’x3’ cage without hurting herself and I. This summer we built her a 20’x9’ outdoor cage, complete with a pond. Needless to say she has become accustomed to all this space and freedom. So I would like to ask you a question on a free roaming idea and run my sketchy, not well thought out idea by you guys. After you read this I would like your opinions and such.

Her cage is about 3’ away from the wall on the side. I would make a small door, enough for her to walk through, on this side with shelving that led to the wall and another shelf that led across the window and provided a basking area. Her cage would be her heated area and area with her UVB light. I’m just trying to give her an area to explore and stretch out. I am thinking about buying 2’ pieces of plexi glass and making tracts that they fit into in the doorframes of the room. The room is supposed to be an extremely large formal entertainment room with the dining room, so they have to entrances but no doors. I want to keep her in and safe. It would also be nice to let my bearded dragons run around. There is a piano, a dining table and the computer desk and her cage in the room.

Do you think this would work, I will try to potty train her for a litter box, with out edible gut clogging things in it. Any ideas are appreciated. Please remember I’ve just started researching and asking about this idea so it is very rough and not put together well.

Thank you for your time.

Christy
