really considering free roaming her this winter, start now. Take several hours a day in which you can supervise her completely. That way you can see where she is likely to roam, where she picks to hang out and wht needs iguana-proofing. I would also put the litter pan with water out during these time to get her used to the idea waaaay before you have to do something this winter.
In a couple of weeks, you will know whether or not free roaming will work for you.
