Hey!
Greeting to all participating (and perusing) this forum. I recently acquired a 3-year-old Iguana, whomg I have rechristened "Drake" (his prior name was Itchy. I just couldn't stand it,so...). I have been on a crach course of learning about this variety of reptiles (I had one once several years ago, but I'm sorry to say he died due to my ignorance). Drake was in great shape when I got him, and had been on a (as far as I can determine) good veggie diet from his previous owners. Until I can settle on feeding arrangements, I have been giving him a diet of mixed greens (collard, turnip, and mustard) and string/green beans. Does anyone have recommendations for a diet? I have him in a fairly roomy ferret/bird enclosure, 42" high, 36" long, and 30" deep, and am currently using a 150 watt basking spot light from ZooMed. I am in a financial recovery, which is why I haven't been able to purchase many of the things I know Drake needs. Any advice would be most appreciated. I'll do my best to check here as often as I can, or you may opt to leave messages at my rocketmail account: thedave@rocketmail.com. Do let me warn you, I am a network engineer, so while I may keep mail systems running flawlessly, I am hideously bad about checking my email with any sort of frequency. Also, I am a former BBS sysop, which means I'll have to use post-it notes to remember to come back here and check. It's good to see people discoursing intelligently on a subject - my wife participates on several freshwater fish forums where juveniles run rampant.
Thanks for your time,
Dave
