: HI!
: Roman is right ... NO-one here totally agrees on diets!!!! so you kinda have to read, read, read and decide for yourself!!! but i think we all DO agree that collards, turnip + mustard greens are all GOOD and NO lettuce, NO spinach .....

: you WILL need a larger enclosure (and SOON) ....
: in the meantime, it will help ALOT if you can give your ig some free-roaming time (SUPERVISED!!)

: the following sites are highly recommended by igs AND their humans:

: Melissa Kaplan's Herp Care Site
: http://www.sonic.net/~melissk/ig_care.html

: Kevin Eagan's Iguana Den
: http://www.escape.com/~iggyden/

: Jen Swofford's iguana Pages

: Wong's Green Iguana Heaven

Yeah, I've let him out a couple of times. Tonight was his longest foray, and the most fun for us both. He got into the wiring closet and played with the servers for awhile. I caught up to him on the top shelf eyeing a way to get on top of the phone switch (which is the highest point of the closet). Normally I keep the door closed, but I was trying a new wiring scheme for downstairs. Glad the little guy didn't get hurt. The enclosure he was in before this was only a 2' cube - he's really liked the additional space and basking shelf thusfar (in my defense, I hasten to point out that the 2' cube was NOT my enclosure, but the one I bought him in). I'm considering opening up the bottom of the cage and giving him run of my computer room, but I'm concerned with the massive (in size and cost) chair I keep in my room. I've read that Igauna urates wikll stain - the chair has a removable cover, so it is possible to simply launder it - will that combined with the proper detergents remove such a stain? Also, I have a small window on the back of the room, about 20" off the floor - might it be a good idea to move his enclosure in front of the window and leave the blind up so he can bask in some actual sunlight, combined with his basking light? He's not a cordial lizard, and his claws cause very deep and painful cuts, but I love my iguana and definately want to see him happy.

Thanks again,

Dave
