heat rock for green iguana's?

hey my name is Danny and one of my friends has an iguana. It is around 2 foot or so. He has a light on top for heating. he says it gets warm but not that warm. Im wondering if he has to have a heat rock in it for the iguana also. Well if you know please tell me. Thxs in advance.
