(before i knew better ....) when i rescued iZ, he came with a hot rock ... i didn't like the look of the thing cuz it has no thermostat or heat regulator ... i plugged it in and let it warm up (outside of iZ's enclosure!) and then tried to lay my hand on it ... i couldn't! it was way too hot ... i threw it out ... thinking it was just an inferior brand, i went + bought a brand new $60 heat rock ... put it in iZ's enclosure and then did some rearranging in there, accidently splashed a bit of water on the now-warmed up rock + it cracked! ummmm ... can you say electrocution hazard??? as well as fire hazard! i threw it out too ...

they're bad bad news ...
