yeah, i was wondering the same thing about using a form of calcium to bind phosphorus ... ummmm ... ever read Catch 22???
*sigh* ... it's getting harder + harder to stick to the "no more vet visits" decision ... wish i could do blood work stuff myself ... (wonder what ever happened to BH's experiment with PH paper? hmmmmmm ... wonder if i could monitor his levels that way?????)

well ... i've been working on calculating calcium, phosphorus + protein of a typical iZ-salad ... *whew* ... am gonna start measuring the ingredients instead of just throwin' it all together so i can control the level of phosphorus more closely ... i've been piling on the various vegies along with the greens to get some more calories into him and i figure right now, his diet is at a 3:1 ratio ... add the TUMS ... that's another 150mg of calcium ... so ... 425mg calcium, 90mg phosphorus is a ratio of 4.7:1 ... i dunno ... any input????? this is new territory i think ... haven't found any recommendations on C:P ratios for renal failure igs ...

anyway ... that's what i've been up to ... iZ is just hangin' out looking over the edge of his shelf + lookin' at me play with numbers ... i think he's giggling ... maybe he's interested too, he hasn't sneezed at me once! LOL ... think it's not enough of a challenge for him when he's directly above me, no challenge, no fun!

ok ... i'm numbered + rambled out for tonight ... *yawn*

thanks for all the help + input!
