Apparently the little bit that I know is from igs who were more advanced in their kidney problems. But it also appears that the symptoms vary from ig to ig ;o( That's why it's a tough call.
If Napoleon really loves the oranges, you might want to try to switch him over to mandarin oranges for a while. They're less "acidy" (is that a word?) and he might process them better right now.
I seem to recall that getting in lots of fluids is a plus. Hopefully someone can say yes/no on this. It probably wouldn't have to be strictly water; thinking melons and even adding a bit of the lowly iceberg *grin* Iceberg is about zip protein wise but a good source of moisture.
Raven, I hope you understand that I wasn't blasting your vet. I know how important it is to trust your medical provider. And I would much rather him be on the cautious side than have something slip by and your ig get worse. Besides a little steroid never hurts *grin* I got one in Jan due to sinus problems and had the added bonus of having energy to spare---guess that came from being able to breathe!
