Hi there !
long time no seen. Hope everyone is doing well here.
I read the FAQ Iguana Newsletter yesterday that a dead tail (necrosis/dry gangrene) should be broken and not cut off above the dead part if the chances for re-growth should be optimal. Never heard that before but it seems logic. Take off the tail between bone pieces and not cut one bone piece through.
What do you think ?. Did you know this already ?.
Ive taken of the tails a few times on my iguanas by cutting them (only very small pieces). They are still growing. It can be that they would have grown better if the amputation was done by breaking the tail instead of cutting it off.
BTW,
Ive updated my Green Iguana Sisters site again now after 5 months. Some really nice iguana growth charts have been updated.
We are still alive and kicking as you can see.
