I realize this sounds Like MBD to all of you, but I have seen this debilatating disease before, and this is nothing like it. Desert iguanas are not like green iguanas. I was hoping to get some reponses from people who do have desert iguanas. Water from what I have read and learned from breeders, is not good. These guys aren't from the tropics. They bask at 110+, some of the hottest loving lizards you'll find. They don't tolerate humidity. All of their moisture comes from their diets. He was running on Friday, has never been lethargic, and has always been supplemented. He does get as much natural sunlights as weather permits. There are no signs of misaligned bones in the spine, tail, or toes. I have a good feeling he took a bad fall in the care of my neighbors. They mentioned he may have fallen off his branch which led me to believe he may have fallen some how. I did purchase the zoo med 5.o uvb iguana light this afternoon. Wish it luck. I chose to buy the light first, because I am sure the vet is going to recommend this as well as an X-ray. I can afford an x-ray, but will not opt. for surgery, so what would be the point???
