Johne...ok...I give....you win, at least you got a somewhat adequate uvb emitting bulb for him. Expect recovery to be a long long time. So you believe that this iguana had some type of spinal injury then RIGHT? (how else could BOTH legs be paralyzed). What makes you think that a 5% uvb light will correct a spinal injury?? Did you know that DESERT iguanas require MORE UVB than green iguanas...minimum of 2 40 watt/5% uvb producing bulbs! in order to manufacture adequate Vitamin D3, the PREVENT MBD??? they ARE HERBIVOROUS....their diet is NO different than that given to green iguanas, Spinach is one of the WORSE things you can give an iguana....(either desert or tropical igs) because eventually it will prevent your iguana from metabolizing calcium! CAUSING MBD, but then again what do I know....I don't even have a desert ig. If it walks like its got MBD, it sounds like its got MBD, looks like its got MBD....then we can be certain of one thing.....It IS NOT MBD.....go figure....I'd still get your ig to a vet....to euthanize him...that little dinky light you bought ain't gonna correct his spinal injury. Oh btw....YOUR WELCOME
Gina
