Hi
As I'm working as a curator at a zoo I have to say something here. A curator has a lot to do and it's not allways possible to have everything in the head, as things change a lot. New animals are coming and old animals leaving! When it comes to Iguanas, this is a BIG problem since people expect us to have room for every animal that they themselves get tired of! We try as much as possible but it's impossible to meet everybodies "demands". AND, what we are TRYING to do, is to make the best for our animals, regarding space, environments and so on. Sometimes people yell at us and say things without really knowing what the animals need. I must admit that there are places that are really bad and even that there are cages at good places that should be better, but beleive me when I'm saying that we are doing our best. Most of the times we KNOW what to correct and have plans to do so, but are not fast enough! What is good, though, are you people out there, because you put a pressure on us ( or really, the people controlling the money ) to make the best for our animals!
A glimps on our place you can see ( the iguanacages MIXED WITH MONKEYS, SLOTHS AND TORTOISES :-) ) ON:
