Depends, of course! Mice and snakes, for instance, is a BAD combination :-)
Seriously, yes why not? The animals can really benefit from this, it can really be an activation and an enrichment to have other animals to deal with! Of course there might be a problem with feeding, for instance, but this can be solved by giving them food in seperate places where one or the other can't get to! Risk of infections transmitted between them are also a risk, but a minor one, the benefits overrule that minor risk.
Also, for the public this is also good, it gives them a chance to dicover more in an exhibit and at the same time get to see interactions that can be really natural and interesting!
